Progress and marks
The progress sheet – a strip per student with a tile per problem, filters, sorting, reviewing attempts, CSV export, and the marks view.
Progress (/teaching/<course>/sheet) is the progress sheet: one row (strip) per student and a tile for each problem given to them. Course staff and admins see this table; a group admin sees only their own groups’ students. Students see a reduced version of their own group (names and Solved / Attempted / Not started per common problem, nothing else) unless the course setting Students see the progress sheet is off; see Course settings. The line under the sheet says which way it is set and links to the setting.
staff/teaching/progress-sheetWhat the sheet shows
Section titled “What the sheet shows”Above the sheet is a summary, for example “24 students · 40 problems in 8 topics”. Each row has:
- Student: the avatar and the name;
- Solved: problems solved out of those given (for example “17/40”);
- the problem tiles in course order, topic by topic, with a thin divider between topics; topic names sit above the tiles (assessment topics are marked with an icon);
- Activity · 14 days: a small chart of how many submissions and Excel uploads the student made on each of the last 14 days.
A student’s problems are their group’s (or the shared) topic list plus their individual tasks. Archived topics are left out. A problem that is in two topics counts twice.
Pointing at a tile shows the problem, its topic, its state and how many students solved it (for example “12 of 25 students solved it”).
Legend
Section titled “Legend”The legend always lists the everyday states, from Solved to Compile error, Checking and Not started, so you know them before they appear. Check failed, Attempted, Not open and Not given are added when the sheet has them:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solved | Accepted on time |
| Late | Accepted after the student’s group’s deadline |
| Some tests | Not solved; the pie shows the share of tests passed |
| Wrong, Limit, Runtime error, Compile error, Check failed | Not solved; shows the latest counted attempt’s result |
| Attempted | Submitted, but the result is unknown |
| Checking | The latest submission is still being checked |
| Not started | No submissions yet |
| Not open | The topic has not opened for the student’s group yet |
| Not given | The problem is not given to this student (for example another group’s list or another student’s individual task) |
Filters and sorting
Section titled “Filters and sorting”- Group: shown when the course has several groups, or individually enrolled students (No group).
- Topic: shown when there is more than one topic. You can also choose a topic by selecting its name above the tiles.
- Sort by selecting a column heading: Student (by family name), Solved (most solved first) or Activity (most submissions in 14 days, then the latest submission).
Filters and sorting are part of the address. The sheet updates by itself: a new submission or verdict changes only that student’s row.
Reviewing attempts
Section titled “Reviewing attempts”- Select a tile (or focus it with the keyboard and press Enter).
- The submission panel opens on the right with the best attempt: the one the tile shows.
- When there were more attempts, choose another one under Attempts. Best and Latest are marked with chips; new attempts appear by themselves.
Not started and Not open tiles don’t open. An Excel task’s tile opens the task’s results page with that student’s uploads. What the submission panel shows is on Submissions.
Keyboard: the arrow keys move between tiles, Page Up / Page Down by 10 students, Home / End to the start and end of a row, Ctrl Home / Ctrl End to the start and end of the sheet. All keys are on the keyboard shortcuts page for staff.
CSV export
Section titled “CSV export”Export CSV downloads the sheet as you see it: with the same group and topic filters and the same order of students.
- Columns: Student, Group, Solved, Given and one column per problem (“Topic · Problem”).
- Cell values:
OKsolved,OK*solved after the deadline,7/10tests passed, a verdict code (WAwrong answer,CEcompilation error,REruntime error,TLtime limit exceeded,MLmemory limit exceeded and others), empty for not started, not open or not given. - The file is UTF-8, so spreadsheets read Lithuanian letters correctly. Values starting with
=,+,-or@are written as text, so they never turn into formulas. - Only the students you can see are exported.
Some courses imported from the old system have a mark sheet. Only in such courses does Show: Progress / Marks appear above the sheet.
The Marks view shows the marks entered: a column for each graded activity with its kind (Problem solving, Mark, Pass / fail or Quiz) and its weight. Cells hold a mark, Pass, No pass, Absent or “—”.
