Submissions history
Every submission and Excel upload you made in a course – filters, the result panel, opening an older version in the editor and comparing it with your draft.
A course’s Submissions (address /courses/<course>/submissions) lists every submission and Excel upload you made in that course, newest first. It shows only your own; the course’s teachers see them too. Practice runs with the samples or your own input are not listed.
The list
Section titled “The list”Submissions are grouped by day (“Today”, “Yesterday”, a weekday or a date). Each row shows:
- the verdict, or the state while it’s being judged (e.g. “Waiting”, “Testing”);
- the problem’s title (Excel tasks carry the Excel glyph);
- tests passed, e.g. “7/10”, or an Excel upload’s points;
- the time it was submitted.
At first the 100 latest rows are shown. Show more adds 100 more, up to 500. To find older ones, filter by problem.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”| Filter | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Show: All / Accepted / Needs work | Above the list | “Accepted” – submissions judged “Accepted”; “Needs work” – judged but not accepted. Submissions still being judged show only under “All” |
| Problem | Top bar | Only the chosen problem’s submissions |
| Verdict | Top bar | Only submissions with the chosen verdict |
Active filters show as chips below the buttons – select a chip to remove the filter. Filters are part of the address (?show=, ?problem=, ?verdict=), so you can bookmark a filtered list.
A submission’s result
Section titled “A submission’s result”Select a row to open its result in a side panel. Its address (?submission=) is kept, so a link opens the same submission.
students/learning/submission-peekThe panel shows:
- the verdict, a link to the problem, the language and when it was submitted;
- Tests (how many passed), Slowest (the slowest test) and Memory (the most used). A dash means memory wasn’t measured – old submissions had no memory measurement;
- the list of tests with every test’s data, hidden ones included (see Results), or compiler messages if the submission didn’t compile;
- Code – the submitted code. Long code is shortened: Show all … lines expands it, and Copy code copies it;
- Open this version in the editor and Ask about this result.
While it is being judged, you see “This submission is still being checked. The result will appear here.” – the result appears by itself.
An Excel upload’s panel shows the upload’s rule results (see Excel tasks) and the buttons Open the task and Ask about this task.
Keyboard
Section titled “Keyboard”| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Next or previous row | J / K |
| Open or close the result | Space |
| Close the result | Esc |
While a result is open, J and K change it along with the row. Drag the panel’s edge to change its width.
An older version in the editor
Section titled “An older version in the editor”You can open any of your submissions in the editor again and continue from it.
- Open the submission’s result.
- Choose Open this version in the editor.
- If you have no draft, or it is the same, the submission’s code appears in the editor straight away and becomes your draft. The bottom bar says “Opened your submission from …”.
- If your draft is different, the editor asks “Replace your draft with this version?”:
- Replace draft – your draft is replaced with the submission’s code;
- Compare – shows both side by side without changing anything;
- Keep draft – changes nothing.
If the submission is in a language the editor doesn’t support (e.g. an old submission in another language), it opens for comparison only.
Comparing with your draft
Section titled “Comparing with your draft”A comparison shows how your current draft differs from a submission: the submission on the left, your draft on the right, with the differences highlighted.
- In the editor’s header, choose Compare and pick a submission (the 30 latest are listed). Or, in the left pane’s Submissions tab, hover over a submission and choose the compare button (“Compare with your draft”).
- Look through the differences. The comparison is read-only.
- Go back with Back to editor, or, to continue from the submission’s code, choose Replace draft.
Other ways to your submissions
Section titled “Other ways to your submissions”- Problem page: Your submissions and the All submissions link (filtered by problem).
- Editor: the left pane’s Submissions tab, and Open submission in the Last result tab.
- My work and Course overview: Recent results.
