Inbox
Notifications from all your courses – what arrives, and how to read, archive and snooze them.
The Inbox (/inbox) collects notifications from all your courses: results of your submissions, your teachers’ replies, announcements, upcoming deadlines and assessments that open. In the sidebar, the number next to Inbox shows how many are unread.
The inbox shows your own notifications only.
students/basics/inboxWhat arrives in the inbox
Section titled “What arrives in the inbox”| Kind | When it arrives | What its row shows |
|---|---|---|
| Result | A solution you submitted to a programming problem has been checked. | The verdict and the tests passed, such as 3/10 tests; when a test fails, also which one, such as “Wrong answer on test 4”. |
| Excel result | An Excel file you uploaded has been checked. | The status and the points. If a teacher reviews the upload later, it shows “Reviewed by your teacher”. |
| Reply | A teacher replies in your conversation. | Who replied. |
| New conversation | A teacher starts a conversation with you. | Who started it. |
| Announcement | A teacher posts an announcement for your course or group. | “New announcement”. |
| Deadline | A topic’s deadline is less than 48 hours away and not all its problems are solved. | The deadline and how many problems are left. |
| Assessment | An assessment opens for you. | Until when it is open. |
- When a submission is checked again, its notification comes back as unread.
- Each conversation has one notification: a new reply moves it to the top as unread.
- A Deadline disappears once you solve every problem in the topic or the deadline passes. If the deadline changes, the notification appears again.
- An Assessment shows while it is open. Without a closing time, it shows for 12 hours after it opens.
- Notifications from a course you can no longer open (the course was archived, or you were removed from it) disappear.
Choose which kinds you get in Settings → Notifications (Settings). Notifications appear in the app only.
The list and the details
Section titled “The list and the details”- At the top, choose Unread (the default) or All. Unread shows how many there are.
- Unread notifications have a dot and bold titles; read ones are dimmed.
- The newest are at the top. The first 50 show, and Show older loads more.
- When the list has notifications from several courses, each row names its course.
Select a notification to see its details on the right. On a narrow screen they fill the whole area, and the Inbox link takes you back to the list.
| Notification | What the details show |
|---|---|
| Result, Excel result | The result of the check and an Open in Submissions button. |
| Reply, New conversation | The whole conversation. You can reply right there. |
| Announcement | The announcement and an Open in Messages button. |
| Deadline, Assessment | The topic, the course, the deadline or the time window, how many problems are left, and an Open problems button. |
Double-click a notification, or press Enter, to open what it is about in its own tab.
The page’s address holds the view and the selected notification (?view=all&item=…), so a reload brings you back to the same place.
Read and unread
Section titled “Read and unread”- A notification you open is marked as read. For a conversation, the conversation counts as read in the course’s Messages too.
- U or the row’s Mark as unread / Mark as read button switches it.
- Mark all as read (the double tick at the top right) marks every notification in your inbox as read, not only those on screen. It shows while something is unread.
The count in the sidebar changes at once.
Archive
Section titled “Archive”Archive a notification you no longer need: E or Backspace, or the row’s Archive button.
- It leaves the inbox (All too) and counts as read.
- “Archived” shows at the bottom for a few seconds, with an Undo button.
- There is no list of archived notifications. The submission, conversation or announcement itself stays on the course’s pages.
- If a new reply arrives in that conversation, or the submission is checked again, the notification comes back as unread.
Snooze
Section titled “Snooze”Snooze a notification you want to see later: H or the row’s Snooze button, then pick when it should come back.
| Option | It comes back |
|---|---|
| Later today | in 3 hours |
| Tomorrow | tomorrow at 08:00 |
| Next week | next Monday at 08:00 |
- Times follow Lithuanian time.
- While snoozed, the notification is hidden. When the time comes, it returns to the top of the list as unread.
- Right after snoozing, the bottom of the screen shows, for example, “Snoozed · Tomorrow” with an Undo button.
Live updates
Section titled “Live updates”The inbox updates by itself: new notifications, replies in the open conversation and results arrive without reloading the page, together with the count in the sidebar. If the connection drops, “Live updates paused · reconnecting” shows at the bottom, and the connection comes back by itself.
Changes caused by time alone (a snooze ending, a deadline coming within 48 hours) show up with the next change or the next time you open the inbox.
