Search and help
Search (Ctrl K or ⌘K), the help menu, the list of keyboard shortcuts and the app's version.
Search
Section titled “Search”Search takes you quickly to a page, a course, a problem or a wiki page. Open it:
- with Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac);
- with the Search button (a magnifying glass) at the top of the sidebar;
- on a phone, with the search button in the top bar.
Ctrl K works while you type in a field too, except in the code editor, which uses this combination itself.
students/basics/command-searchResults come in groups:
| Group | What is in it | What opens |
|---|---|---|
| Pages | My work, Inbox, Wiki | The page, in the current tab. |
| Courses | Your courses | The course’s Problems. |
| Problems | Problems of your courses whose title contains what you typed | The problem’s page, in a tab of its own. |
| Wiki | Wiki pages you can read whose title or text contains what you typed | The page in the wiki, in the current tab. |
| Help | Docs | This help site, in a new browser tab. |
- Pages and courses are narrowed down as you type.
- Problems are searched once you type at least 2 characters; up to 20 results show, each with its course. While searching, “Searching…” shows. Search finds only the problems a course’s Problems page lists for you: a topic’s problems are found once the topic opens for you.
- Wiki pages are searched once you type at least 2 characters too; up to 10 pages show. Case and Lithuanian accents do not matter:
saknualso finds “Šaknų”. - Each wiki page shows its path, the pages above it, such as “Python › Loops”. When what you typed is in the page’s text rather than its title, a line from the text with the match shows under the title. Pages whose title matches come first.
- Search covers only your courses, their problems and the wiki pages you can read: published public pages and those of your courses’ organisations. Drafts and archived pages are never in it. For more results and filters, use the search in the wiki.
- When nothing matches, it says “Nothing found. Try another word.”
Pick a result with ↑ / ↓ and open it with Enter. Close search with Esc.
