First-run setup
What to choose when you sign in for the first time – language, theme and linked accounts.
The first time you sign in (or after you change a temporary password), the first-run setup opens at /welcome. In a few steps you choose the interface language and the theme and, if you like, link a Google or GitHub account. Every choice applies and is saved at once.
students/basics/welcome-themeThe steps
Section titled “The steps”- Welcome – the interface language: Lietuvių or English. The page switches to it at once.
- Theme – Dark, Light or System (follows your device’s light or dark mode). The cards show how the app will look.
- Accounts – link a Google or GitHub account so that you can sign in with it next time. This is optional. The step appears only when Google or GitHub sign-in is enabled.
- You’re all set – select Get started.
Move between steps with Next and Back. Your browser’s Back button returns to the previous step too.
Link an account during setup
Section titled “Link an account during setup”- In the Accounts step, select Link next to Google or GitHub.
- On Google’s or GitHub’s page, choose your account and allow signing in with it.
- You return to the same step. The row shows the linked account’s email address (for GitHub, its username) and the date you linked it.
How linked accounts work and how to unlink them: Account security.
Skip the setup
Section titled “Skip the setup”Skip is on every step except the last. Skipping or selecting Get started marks the setup as done, and it does not open by itself again. You continue to the page you were trying to open, or to My work.
You can change everything later:
- the language and the theme in Settings → Preferences or in the account menu (Settings);
- linked accounts in Settings → Security (Account security).
To see the setup again, open /welcome.
